In Mumbai, the resident doctors' strike has reached its 10th day. Representatives of the Central Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD) stated their intention to meet with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. They are determined to continue their protest until their demands are addressed by the state government. Additionally, the Municipal Medical Teachers Association has decided to postpone their mass casual leave protest in order to give the BMC administration time to enhance hospital security. This decision was made after the association's members refrained from work on Saturday. The impact of the strike is evident in the significant reduction in hospital services, leading to patient inconvenience. Hospitals such as KEM in Parel, LTMG in Sion, Nair in Mumbai Central, and Cooper in Juhu have reported a decrease in their daily outpatient clinic numbers by over 50%. For instance, the average daily outpatient numbers in KEM have dropped from 6,000 to around 2,000-2,500 on most strike days. In Sion hospital, the corresponding number reduced from approximately 4,000 to 1,500.
